Taxonomic studies of fungi and other eukaryotes often rely on the nuclear ribosomal gene cluster, which includes the 18S gene. We offer an easy solution for the analysis of ITS1 regions for the characterization of fungi from various samples (culture, stool, sputum, skin, soil and water).
The protocol is based on PCR (“Polymerase Chain Reaction”) nucleic acid amplification of this internal transcribed spacer (ITS1) region located between the 18S and 5.8S rRNA genes.
